HOME > Mold Fabrication

Once the design of a product has been finalized, Yoshikawa Kasei designs and fabricates the mold(s) for manufacturing. During this phase, 3D data is shared among various design systems that are based on CAD, CAM, CAE, and other computer-aided automation technologies, thereby reducing the lead time for mold fabrication.
Also, engineers involved in the mold fabrication process are highly experienced in using state-of-the-art machines to fabricate precise, high-quality molds. Recently there has been a trend to shift mold fabrication to China and other nearby Asian countries; Yoshikawa Kasei has been sharing expertise in mold fabrication among three primary bases -- Japan, China, and Malaysia -- thereby providing customers all over the world with molds that take advantage of Yoshikawa Kasei's precise mold fabrication techniques and that truly suit customer needs.

Mold Design Department
We make effective use of 3D CAD/CAM systems to meet customer needs promptly.
Unigraphics NX
This 3D CAD/CAM system links the mold structure, parting line, and NC data creation and supports data input in STEP, IGES, and other formats.

Mold Making Department
We make molds by constantly using most-advanced machines and know-how of ultra-precision machining techniques.
Facility Example
Sodick AQ35L
The 3-axis linear motor enables polish-free finishing free of surface roughness variation due to high-speed discharge processing.
  YASDA YAM640V2
The spindle head, machine temperature regulator, and shrinkage-fit tool support high-speed and high-precision machining.

MAKINO V33
The pallet changer quickly moves from insert machining to the Eloy-jig mounted table for the discharge master, depending on the machining application.
  Sodick AP200L
This machine supports various types of machining, from highly efficient water-dielectric machining to oil-dielectric machining suitable for fine processing.
